I am a registered dietitian licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. I earned my degree in dietetics from Penn State University, University Park . I also have been trained and educated in the post-grad one-year didactic internship program through the well-known food service company, Aramark. I worked in a clinical setting for a few years before deciding to switch into counseling. I gained clinical experience at Holy Redeemer Hospital and Rehab Center, Kennedy Health, and St Mary’s Medical Center.
I have been counseling for quite a few years now and can fully say that I enjoy my time with each and every patient. It is very rewarding for me to help people identify ways in which they want to improve their lives at their desired pace. I feel for those who struggle to begin making lifestyle changes and believe that I am a good support in helping them make their first steps. I feel it is important to know, “I am called a dietitian, but it does not mean I put my clients on diets. We work together on lifestyle changes that my clients can carry with them for the rest of their lives.”
My degree requires constant continuation of my education to ensure that I am up to date with new studies and findings. I am currently enrolled in an extensive continuing education course working specifically with nutrition related therapeutic modalities in the treatment of eating disorders. These continuing education courses help me to be the best dietitian I can be for my patients. I often work with patients focusing on weight management, GI issues, diabetes management, heart health, and disordered eating.
I understand how life can get in the way, and I try to help my clients make changes even in hard times: “Small changes are still changes.”
