Priscilla Wiggins, MEd, Pre-Licensed Therapist

Personal Statement

In my work with clients, I emphasize building a strong therapeutic alliance to create an

environment of trust, safety, and comfort. I believe in meeting clients where they are in regard

to their emotional understanding and expression, and progressing through treatment with a

focus on building self-awareness, self-trust, and self-esteem.

I primarily work with teenage and adult individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression,

grief/bereavement, self-doubt, relational problems, and life transition difficulties. I also have

experience working with children over the age of 5, and I am available for couples and family

counseling sessions. I primarily use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy techniques to help clients

better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and use

self-awareness as a primary agent for change. I also utilize person-centered, acceptance and

commitment, and strengths-based techniques to help my clients understand their value and

strengths in their everyday life and relationships.

Drawing on my experiences as a former Division I soccer player, I enjoy working with youth,

high school, and college athletes on the unique mental health challenges involved with being an

athlete. This can include performance anxiety, time management, mental barriers to

performance, stress and burnout, managing and coping with injury, and more.

I am available for both in-person and telehealth sessions based on availability and need.

I look forward to helping you along your unique mental health journey.
